Community Workshops

The workshop comes
to your community

Not everyone can travel to Xalapa for a workshop. The community format brings the same practical costing and pricing education to markets, neighborhood associations, and community spaces across Veracruz.

Same content, adapted for your location and group

The community workshop delivers the same three-session costing and pricing curriculum as the business workshop, but it is organized by and for a specific group — a market, a neighborhood food association, a municipal program, or a group of vendors who know each other.

Sessions are held at a location in your community: a market hall, a community center, a church hall, or any space where a group can work comfortably. Monvarolario brings the materials and the facilitator.

Organized by Community
A local organizer — a market association, a municipal office, or a community leader — coordinates the group and the venue.
We Come to You
Monvarolario's facilitator travels to your community with all workshop materials. Participants don't need to travel.
Peer Learning Environment
Learning alongside people you know — neighbors, fellow market vendors — creates a comfortable environment for working through real numbers.

The community workshop works for a range of organizers

Any group with a shared interest in food business education can request a community workshop session.

Market Associations

Tianguis and mercado associations that want to offer their member vendors a practical financial education program as part of vendor support.

Municipal Programs

Local government economic development offices looking to support small food businesses in their municipalities with practical, non-theoretical training.

Community Organizations

Neighborhood associations, cooperatives, or community groups that include food business owners among their members and want to support their financial literacy.

Educational Institutions

Technical schools, community colleges, or vocational training programs that include food business management in their curriculum and want a practical costing component.

The process from inquiry to workshop

1
Contact Us
Reach out by phone or email to describe your group: who they are, approximately how many participants, and where you are located. We'll discuss whether the community format is a good fit for your situation.
2
Plan Together
We work with your local organizer to identify a suitable venue, confirm the number of participants, and schedule the three sessions at times that work for your community's food business owners.
3
Prepare Your Group
Participants receive a simple preparation guide: what to bring (recipes, recent purchase receipts), what to expect in each session, and how the costing exercises will work.
4
Workshop Delivery
Monvarolario's facilitator delivers all three sessions at your community location. Materials, scales, and worksheets are brought by us. Participants work through their own dishes in a supported group setting.

Community sessions across the Veracruz region

While our main venue is in Xalapa, community sessions have been designed to reach food business owners who are not able to travel to the city. We coordinate with local organizers in municipalities and communities throughout the region.
